OSRS XP Calculator

Find the XP you need for your next level, your first 99 or a longer-term goal. Use the OSRS XP Calculator with your current level or exact experience, then add an XP rate to estimate training actions and time.

Assumptions and sources
  • Exact XP takes precedence over the corresponding level field. Virtual levels are display targets only. Actions round up; time uses your effective rate and excludes breaks.

How to use the OSRS XP Calculator

A level gives you a starting estimate. Exact XP gives you a more accurate plan because it includes the progress you have already made within that level.

  1. Enter your starting point. Use your current skill level, or enter exact current XP from your account. If both fields contain a value, exact XP takes priority.
  2. Choose a goal. Enter a target level from 1–99 or an exact target XP amount. Enable virtual levels if you want to plan a display milestone above 99, up to level 126.
  3. Add training details if you have them. XP per action estimates how many items or actions you need. Effective XP per hour estimates training time. Leave either blank if you only need the experience gap.
  4. Select Calculate. Check your result, adjust your assumptions and recalculate. Copy results to keep a short record of the plan, or use Reset to start again.

What your results mean

This OSRS experience calculator separates the XP goal from the assumptions about how you will reach it:

XP remaining
Your target XP minus your current XP. If you have already met the target, the remaining gap is zero.
Actions required
The remaining XP divided by the XP earned per action, rounded up to a whole action. A final action may take you slightly beyond the goal.
Estimated time
The XP gap divided by your effective hourly rate. The display rounds up to the next minute; it is an estimate rather than a guaranteed finish time.
XP progress
Your current XP as a share of the target’s total XP. This measures experience progress, rather than the percentage of levels completed.

Example: how much XP is left from level 92 to 99?

Suppose you have just reached level 92 and want to reach 99. Enter current level 92, target level 99, 100 XP per action and an effective rate of 50,000 XP per hour.

Example training plan: level 92 to 99
Part of the planResult
Starting XP at level 926,517,253
Target XP at level 9913,034,431
XP remaining6,517,178
Actions at 100 XP each65,172
Time at 50,000 XP/hour130 hours 21 minutes

If you are already partway through level 92, enter your exact XP instead. The remaining experience, actions and time will decrease to reflect that progress.

OSRS XP table: useful level milestones

The OSRS experience table gives the total XP needed to reach each level. These are cumulative thresholds, not the amount earned during that individual level. For the full OSRS XP chart, expand Search the XP table inside the calculator and search for a level.

Total XP required to reach selected skill levels
LevelTotal XP required
10
50101,333

801,986,068
905,346,332
926,517,253
9913,034,431

To find OSRS XP per level rather than a cumulative total, subtract one level’s threshold from the next. The searchable table also shows XP to the next level. A level 99 goal always uses the same threshold; your training method changes how quickly you reach it.

How the calculation works

The calculator uses the standard OSRS experience curve to convert a selected level into total XP. It then calculates the gap between your starting point and your goal. Exact current and target XP override the matching level inputs.

XP needed = target XP − current XP. Negative gaps become zero. Actions needed = XP needed ÷ XP per action, rounded up. Training hours = XP needed ÷ effective XP per hour.

For a useful time estimate, enter a rate you can sustain across the whole session. Include banking, travel and interruptions in that rate. If you change training methods, calculate each stage separately instead of assuming one rate will fit the entire grind.

Include any applicable XP bonus in your XP-per-action or hourly-rate input. The general calculator does not choose an outfit, apply a temporary boost or predict combat damage for you. One-time quest rewards can be included in your current XP once received, or handled as a separate planning stage.

Normal skill levels stop at 99. Virtual levels up to 126 are display milestones; they do not unlock extra in-game skill levels. Exact XP goals accept tenths up to the 200,000,000 XP cap. Inputs and calculations stay in your browser, and no account login or player lookup is required. Our accuracy and methodology approach explains how we handle estimates and assumptions.

XP calculator FAQs

How much XP do I need for level 99 in OSRS?

Level 99 requires 13,034,431 total XP. From a fresh level 1 skill with zero XP, that is the full experience gap. For an existing skill, subtract your current XP or enter it in the calculator.

Is level 92 exactly halfway to 99?

It is very close, but not exact. Half of 13,034,431 is 6,517,215.5 XP. Level 92 starts at 6,517,253 XP, which is 37.5 XP beyond that halfway point.

Why do exact XP and current level give different results?

A level input uses the minimum XP needed to reach that level. Exact XP includes the experience you have earned since then, so it usually leaves a smaller gap. Exact XP takes priority when both starting fields are filled.

Can I use the same XP table for different skills?

Yes. Standard OSRS skills share the same level thresholds. Enter the XP earned per action or effective hourly rate for the skill and method you are training. The tool does not include ingredient costs or automatically model XP earned in other skills at the same time.

Can I plan beyond level 99 or use an exact XP goal?

Yes. Enable virtual levels for targets up to level 126, or enter an exact XP goal up to 200 million. Virtual levels help track progress after 99; they do not raise the actual skill-level cap.
