Accuracy & Methodology
A calculation is useful only when its assumptions are clear.
Sources and supported methods
Our calculator pages explain their supported inputs, calculation approach and limitations. Relevant source links appear alongside the explanation or in the tool’s assumptions panel. Specialist mechanics need their own treatment.
Formulas and testing
We document the calculation approach and check representative examples against expected results. Testing covers supported input limits, invalid values, rounding and boundary cases. A verified example does not mean a general calculator supports every game mechanic.
Prices and cost estimates
For cost tools, user-entered prices and market data are treated separately. Live price feeds show their source and timestamp. Prices and availability can change, and random material consumption is an expectation rather than a guaranteed shopping list.
Probability is not a promise
The Dry Calculator uses a fixed probability on independent rolls. It does not model changing rates, guaranteed rewards, protection systems or encounter-specific reward allocation. Expected drops and probability thresholds do not guarantee an outcome.
Checking a result
If a result looks wrong, first check the inputs, units and stated assumptions against the relevant game mechanic. Keep a record of the tool URL, inputs, observed result, expected result and supporting source. We never need account credentials.
